Some football bets ideas and trading strategies for this big game….
ARSENAL are seemingly slipping out of the title race and were comprehensively beaten by Manchester United at the Emirates last weekend. Sports traders will be wary about backing them at the moment as they are in the middle of a very difficult run and that continues this weekend at Chelsea.
The Blues have been almost unstoppable at Stamford Bridge this season and only Everton have managed to avoid defeat in the league. However, their price is still quite big at 1.84 on Betfair – possibly a sign that the John Terry story is taking its toll on the Blues.
Those who trade on the sports exchanges will be well aware that Chelsea have dominated clashes against the Gunners recently – winning three of the last four. They did lose here 2-1 last season, though, which will give some hope to the layers.
Both sides failed to win their last game but generally when Big Four teams misfire prior to playing each other it is normally the home side that benefits. Since 2003/04, there have been eight Big Four clashes where both sides had failed to win their previous league match with the home team going W5-D2-L1.
Arsenal haven’t had a problem finding the net this season, but they haven’t scored in the first half in any of their last five trips to Chelsea. That will be of interest to those looking to lay the Gunners in the opening period. In fact, four of the last five league games between these two at Stamford Bridge have been goalless at the break so a decent in-running strategy might be to back no goalscorer at 11.0 and lay-off at half-time.
